In a startling incident, an intruder broke into Saif Ali Khan’s Mumbai home and attacked him causing injuries. Khan was resting with his family, including wife Kareena Kapoor, in their Bandra house when the assault happened early Thursday. The attacker stabbed Khan and ran away as the family woke up to the noise.
Police have begun a search to find the criminal. They are writing up an official report at the Bandra police station. Several teams of investigators are working to catch the attacker. Officials have confirmed this alarming event. A high-ranking IPS officer said that Khan is getting treatment at Lilavati Hospital, a well-known medical center.
Right now, we don’t know if the injuries came from the attack itself or from a fight with the attacker. The Mumbai crime branch has also started looking into the incident on its own.
Dr. Niraj Uttamani, who serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Lilavati Hospital, provided an update on Khan’s status. He said, “The attacker struck the victim at home, and he reached our hospital around 3:30 am. He has six wounds, with two being more serious. One injury sits near his spine. A group of experts is doing the operation. This team includes neurosurgeon Dr. Nitin Dange cosmetic surgeon Dr. Leena Jain, and anesthetist Dr. Nisha Gandhi. We’ll understand the full scope of the harm after the surgery ends.”
What’s more, Dr. Uttamani pointed out another wound on Khan’s neck, which doctors are looking at . The operation began at 5:30 am and is still going on. Someone who works at the hospital who did not want to give their name said that doctors found a piece of the knife used in the attack stuck inside the actor body. They are still trying to figure out how bad all the injuries are. On a brighter side, people say Khan can still move his arms and legs, which means his spine probably isn’t hurt.
Saif Ali Khan’s family is by his side in the hospital offering support to his wife Kareena kapoor and their two children, Taimur (8) and Jeh (4). The couple lives at Satguru Sharan Bhawan in Bandra West, where the tragedy took place.
